Peter Wallbank Invited to Join ICOMIA Technical Committee
Peter Wallbank, Technical Director of August Race, has been invited to join the ICOMIA Technical Committee, chaired by Sebastien Milcendeau.
The ICOMIA Technical Committee plays a central role in supporting the global recreational marine industry by monitoring emerging and evolving technical regulations, guiding the development and revision of ISO standards, and encouraging alignment between international frameworks such as ISO and ABYC. Its work helps ensure that technical standards remain practical, relevant, and globally consistent.
In addition to its standards-focused activity, the Committee maintains awareness of technical developments in adjacent and non-marine sectors. Where appropriate, these developments are brought to the attention of the recreational marine industry for consideration, adaptation, or further development. This approach supports innovation while maintaining safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory coherence.
Peter’s participation in the Committee reflects August Race’s long-standing focus on technical integrity, regulatory awareness, and responsible product development. Through involvement at Technical Committee level, August Race aims to contribute constructively to industry-wide discussions that support clarity, consistency, and long-term sustainability across the leisure marine sector.
